【周末家庭主题活动】运动员

亲爱的家长们：

我们下一个学术主题是运动员。我们想要邀请您作为合作伙伴加入我们下一个即将到来的主题家庭活动。这是一个很棒的户外主题，因为孩子们可以探索外面的世界。

对于孩子们，了解运动员最好的学习材料是关于运动员的书和各种体育运动比赛。书籍《揭秘运动员》和《疯狂的母鸡运动员》对孩子们是非常有益的，因为它们可以教导孩子各种不同的运动，同时也可以让他们感受到体育精神。

各种运动器材，如足球，篮球，瑜伽球，滑板车等，也是很棒的学习材料，因为它们以一个很有趣的方式教会孩子如何做不一样的运动，比如瑜伽和篮球。

给你的孩子一个具有更大升值的题材，花些时间向他们解释这些运动之间的差异（如哪些是游泳项目，哪些是滑雪项目，田径项目分成几个小项)。帮助他们更好地明白奥运会的赛程和各项体育运动的比赛规则。

做手工是提升孩子主题体验的另一种方式，您可以和孩子在网上查找不同运动项目的顶尖运动员，打印他们的图片和生平事迹以及他们获得的奖杯，做成一本运动员相册，甚至可以下查找更多的资料，做成一本属于你和孩子的运动员百科全书。

另外一种有趣的方式是带孩子体验其中一种运动，例如带孩子们去运动场踢足球，可以和其他家庭成员或朋友进行一场比赛，比赛前，先制定比赛规则，选好裁判，可以给运动员制作名字贴和比赛号码，让孩子在尽情享受运动的同时感受“公平竞争、互相理解、友谊团结”的体育精神。

请记住，不论孩子们是否有在家做过任何家庭主题活动，但他们每一个人一定会完全参与到我们的教室活动中。谢谢你！

Dear Parents,

Our next academic theme is Athletes. We’d like to suggest a few sports-related activities that you can try at home with your child. With your help, dear parents, together we can make these next few weeks an especially fascinating and educational time for your child!

One of the ways your child can explore the world of sports is to read a book with you. There are countless children’s books about athletes and various sports. We especially recommend two books, Reveal the Secret of Athletes and A Crazy Hen. These books will help teach your child not only about how to play different kinds of sports, but also about teamwork and the importance of trying hard.

Put down the book and do the thing itself! Toss a football, play a game of catch, do a little yoga, or hit some ping-pong balls! It can be just the two of you, or you can even create a little competition with family and friends. Not only is this good exercise and great bonding, but it also teaches the material in a very concrete way.

Take time to explain the differences between the sports, such as what is needed to play and the rules of the game. You can also talk about the importance of teamwork and what it means to be a good sport. Actual experience with the material taught in class will really help keep your child interested and eager to learn more!

Summer is hot, so if you’d like to stay indoors, this craft idea will do the trick. First, you and your child can surf around the Internet to find some fun information about your favorite athletes and sports. Find a few pictures of some games, some trophies, and anything else your child finds interesting, and print them out. Use these to make a picture album together! Each page can cover a specific sport or athlete. This can even become material for them to study later. Kids love looking at books they craft themselves!

We hope these suggestions inspire you to find ways of exploring the Athletes unit at home. Certainly extra review helps, but rest assured that we’ll have plenty of fun and interesting activities at school to fully immerse your child in the theme. Thank you!
