In my time in Monkey class, I have been so impressed with how curious the children are at this age. They love to constantly discover new things about the world. 

When they play with toys, there are often several children who pretend to be family members, doctors, or barbers. The funny part is that they often invite me to play a role in their play! Sometimes they invite me to be a baby, a customer, or a patient. When I pretend to be a baby, the students want to take care of me. When I pretend to be a customer, the students pretend to serve me. When I pretend to be a patient, I have to listen to the doctor’s instructions.  

Playing with the children in this way brings me so much joy, and brings me back to my own childhood. I feel like I am interacting with the children in a way that makes our relationship happier and more creative. A child’s world is filled with so much happiness and playfulness.
